Choose a Meta campaign objective from the business action you want, then verify the performance goal and conversion location available in the current account. A traffic result is not a substitute for a qualified lead or paid order. The objective choice belongs beside a measurement plan, not beside a vague reach target.
Decision framework
| Step | Practical check |
|---|---|
| Name the real outcome | Write down whether the business wants a paid order, a qualified enquiry, an app action or awareness. |
| Check the conversion path | Confirm that the website, form or messaging destination can capture and return the chosen outcome. |
| Select the closest objective | Compare the current options in Ads Manager against the action and the available performance goal. |
| Verify after launch | Match reported results to CRM or store records before judging cost per result. |
How to make the decision
Make a short decision record with four columns: outcome, event that represents it, evidence outside Meta and acceptable cost. If purchase tracking is broken, fix or document the gap before optimizing for purchases. If the goal is appointments, define what counts as a qualified appointment rather than optimizing only for a submitted form.
Worked example
Illustrative Dubai clinic: a campaign produces 60 form submissions, but 18 have a usable phone number and six book a consultation. The business target is a confirmed consultation, so its review uses the CRM count and cost per booking. A lead objective may still fit, but the event and follow-up workflow need to reflect quality rather than raw form volume.
What can change the answer
Available objective labels and performance goals can change. Record the selected settings from the actual account and avoid claiming the platform can optimize for a business event it never receives.
Review checklist
- Is the target outcome written in business terms?
- Does the selected event happen only when that outcome occurs?
- Can reported results be reconciled to a store or CRM record?
Common question
Is Traffic wrong for every sales campaign?
No. Traffic can serve a defined visit objective, but it should not be reported as evidence of sales without verified sales data.
Next useful step
After choosing the objective, check the wider account audit: Planning a Paid Social Account Audit Around Business Decisions. For help applying this to a UAE business, see Megvi’s Meta Ads service. Bring the source records and the decision you need to make.
The Flower Center case shows why measurement and account changes need a clear sequence: review the public case. Its results are not assumed for this example.

Worked examples are illustrative unless a public source is explicitly named; they are not claimed Megvi client outcomes.
