A service case study begins as an evidence register, not a success story. A register keeps project scope, source files, permission and uncertainty together so the final article cannot turn an implementation task into an unsupported business result.
The decision sequence
Begin with a real buyer or team task and keep the relevant source record. The worksheet below is meant to expose a decision that someone can check, rather than replace specialist review or claim a Megvi client result.
| Decision point | What to check |
|---|---|
| Create a fact record | For each claim record its wording, source URL or file, date, project owner, client permission and whether it may be public. |
| Separate evidence levels | Mark a public deliverable, a measured result, a client statement and an inference differently. A screenshot is not proof of revenue impact. |
| Record missing baselines | If there is no verified before period, describe the work completed without inventing a percentage improvement. |
| Approve publication | Have the project owner and client contact review names, figures, screenshots and the exact final wording. |
Worked example
Illustrative fact register: “new category navigation launched” has a dated public page and project change record, so it is publishable after permission. “sales rose 30% because of navigation” has no validated baseline or attribution analysis, so it is excluded. A client quote remains pending until its exact original and scope of use are verified.
What could change the decision
Do not infer confidential metrics from a visible website change. The absence of a baseline is a reporting limit, not an invitation to estimate one.
Review before using it
Sample five sentences from a draft case. Can a reviewer open the underlying record for every factual claim and see its approval status?
Next useful step
Before describing impact, separate the completed work from the observed outcome in Separating Implementation Results From Business Outcomes. For help with a live implementation, see Megvi’s integrated digital growth services. Bring the current page, workflow or evidence record and the decision you need to make.
